Who are we looking for?

  • You have at least 3 years of experience as a backend developer.
  • You are used to working with Python (familiar with similar languages instead? We are still happy to have a chat!)
  • You have worked with several other languages, so you have a good understanding of the possibilities.
  • You are familiar with integrating with API's.
  • You have (basic) knowledge of (front-end) languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • You like to apply design patterns, test-driven development, and security best practices.
  • You have experience with GitHub, GitLab, or a comparable version control system.
  • You preferably have basic knowledge of command-line tools (Linux). Not required, but a plus.
  • You can think and work on a level similar to a college or higher educational level. (A diploma is not necessary).
  • You are willing to work 40 hours a week.
  • You enjoy working at the office and are a real team player. At the same time, you can work independently and take responsibility.
  • You thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing work environment, while you are working in a structured and precise manner.
  • You enjoy challenges, like to take the initiative, and are always looking to expand your knowledge.
  • You have a (professional) command of the English language. Command of the Dutch language is a bonus.

  • A tech stack of primarily Python, JavaScript/TypeScript (Svelte), and AWS.

  • Monthly salary between €4500 and €6000 gross.

The challenge

As a Backend developer, you are responsible for the further development and optimisation of our software. You bring several years of experience and expertise in building (web) apps as a backend developer. You are able to think along about the best-suited solutions and then implement these for a variety of issues. Moreover, you work together with a team of talented developers with whom you strive for top quality, user-friendliness and scalability for both your code and the product.

Responsibilities:

  • Thinking about, and implementing code to add new features to the product in a scalable way.
  • Working test-driven, with an eye for existing code, performance, and security. With this, you monitor and improve the overall quality of the codebase.
  • You will also ensure seamless integrations. Both between our own backend and frontend and also with external HR tools.
  • You will collaborate with the rest of the tech team and actively contribute to code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge sharing. Together, we will learn from our experiences and continue to grow. We are a small team, so your input is more than welcome.
  • Additionally, you will also get a lot of space to develop yourself both personally and professionally. So investing time and energy in training and development is also part of the job.

Step 1: application

Are you interested in joining our team? Send in your application!

Step 2: phone chat

If your resume aligns suffciently, we will schedule a (brief) introductory phone chat to get to know each other.

Step 3: assessment

When we are both positive after the phone interview, you will receive our soft skills assessment. This way you can get to know our product and at the same time we can get to know you yet a bit better.

Step 4: interview

If the outcomes of the assessment fit well, we will invite for an on-site job interview (sometimes more than 1). After the interview(s), we can decide together whether you will get on board.

Step 5: contract

When you get on board and agree on our offer it is time to sign your contract and jointly toast on our the partnership!
