At The Selection Lab we try to fix hiring by solving the optimisation problem of what makes a great candidate on a daily basis by building the next-generation applicant selection technology!

We are a fast-growing scale-up, where you will be given a lot of responsibility to work towards the social mission of objective hiring.

Our values:

  • We learn, together. By embracing mistakes, providing feedback and stimulating learning (e.g. with books, training, presentations).
  • We show we care. By rewarding, giving, and helping out.
  • We deliver extraordinary results. By pushing ourselves to be the best, and own up to that.

You:

  • You love writing frontend-code (and have some demonstrable experience with it, preferably in Svelte)
  • You are interested in pursuing a career in a fast-growing, HR-tech startup
  • You like to be surrounded by a team, to learn from, but also to help each other out and to have fun with
  • You are responsible and want to get things done
  • You are open to feedback and want to make sure to learn everything you need to become an even better developer
  • You have an excellent command of the Dutch language

What we'll provide:

  • Our tech stack: python (backend) and javascript/typescript/svelte (frontend). Check out the overview below.
  • A startup environment in which you get the chance to make an impact and learn every day.
  • An amazing office in the centre of Amsterdam. We provide a lot of flexibility but do have an office-culture, and expect you to be there most of the time.
  • Free lunch, drinks, activities and parties
  • A monthly compensation of €450,-, plus an optional €30,- if you use your own laptop
  • Lots of extra's: in office bootcamps, trees planted to compensate your emissions, 25 days holiday + 2 non-bank holidays days by default off

A typical day for you

  • 9:00: your first coffee at the office. Want to start earlier? Go for it.
  • 9:15: the daily start of the day with the whole team, briefly sharing your focus for the day
  • 9:25: your developer-team standup, in which we can dive into your planning, discussing obstacles, questions, and progress
  • 9:35: typically some programming in which you either join a developer to learn from, or get help to get things done together
  • 12:00: lunch-time!
  • 12:30: time to review some pull-requests of your team members and take part in valuable code discussions
  • 13:00: a collaborative planning- or project refinement-session with (a part of) the team
  • 14:00: a focus block to write some code yourself
  • 16:30: a 1-1 with your manager
  • 17:15: tick off some last todo's or help out the support team with some tech-related issues
  • time to go home, join the bootcamp or office-drinks!

Some of our extras

Daily free lunch
Providing a great and motivating working environment is one of our priorities. As part of this, we provide all our employees with a free lunch, for example.

Weekly drinks
A good team spirit is something we value highly. Our weekly get-togethers give us the perfect opportunity to bond, laugh and grow as a team.

Monthly parties and/or activities
We don't leave it at weekly get-togethers, once a month we take some more time to look back at our progress while enjoying food and a drink (or two) - provided by us, of course.

General moments of celebration
Not only do we believe it is important to achieve our goals as a team, we also like to celebrate our milestones together.
